Last Saturday a group of women from the dental industry including our very own Seminars@thirtyeight director Gaynor Barrett and 38 Devonshire Street dental nurses Ruby Bhachu and Mary Lupton joined The Running Dental Devils group at this year's Race For Life in Finsbury Park. I joined these amazing ladies myself, firstly to capture the fun of the day but secondly in my role as 'Official Bag Man'!
The Running Dental Devils were formed last year by group of women from the dental industry, who like to run and more importantly wanted to unite against cancer.
This year's Dental Devils were formed of - Top, left-right Gaynor Barrett (38 Devonshire Street), Shelley Foster (Abi Dental), Noor Sharif, Abeer Al-adhami (Abi Dental), Sylvie Sturrock (Neem Tree Dental), Laura Horton (Laura Horton Consulting), Felicity Cleaver, Cristina Sabau (Chiral Systems) - Bottom, left-right Janine Greyling (Dental Nurse Recruitment Network) Ruby Bhachu and Mary Lupton (both 38 Devonshire Street).
Now you might think, considering the extremely bad weather we've been experiencing recently, that we were all a bunch of mad fools by choosing to spend a Saturday morning in the open air. However, the atmosphere at Finsbury Park was electric and the reason for taking part far outweighed the weather conditions.
Despite the heavens opening just minutes before the start of the race on the whole the weather was fair and though the runners were a little damp at the start everyones spirits were high. Including mine as I looked after everyones bags whilst they were out on the track.
Massive congratulations to all the ladies for all completing the course, especially Gaynor who completed the 10k run with a new personal best time of 52 minutes!
